Legal Question in Business Law in Minnesota

Boarding cats

I have been boarding 2 cats for an owner. He said they would be here for 3 weeks tops. Today is day 54. He has never called to check on the cats. When I contacted him around day 40, he got mad that his bill was so high. He said he would call the next day to make arrangements to pick them up and has not called back. What do I do?

Re: Boarding cats

Continue to charge at the agreed upon rate. I would also tak position that since cats are personal property, you have possessory lien to retain them until full payment is made (cash ir postal M.O.)

Call or email for further assistance.

Re: Boarding cats

The fees under the contract may accrue until the cats are picked up.

You may also serve a notice stating that the cats will deemed abandoned if not picked up within 30 days. After that thirty (30) days, you may be able to take other measures to place them in a shelter as abandoned.
