Legal Question in Business Law in Minnesota
I've designed a web solution that could be used by a variety of retail stores to assist in-store customers. It is already built and I want to begin pitching it to companies. After the presentation, I don't want the company to turn down my service and pricing only to go out and build the system on their own, essentially stealing the concept. What kind of document should I prepare prior to the presentation? NDA? A non-compete clause?

I don't think this is something you should try to do without retaining counsel. Your instincts are right to protect your intellectual property, but I think professional assistance is in order here before you do anything else.
As a Franchise Attorney I can say the other attorney is right on point here. This is definitely not a do-it-yourself project. A well-drafted NDA is most ilkely your best option. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
