Legal Question in Business Law in Minnesota

house remodel

in august of 2006 a friend and i decided to partner up and buy a house to flip it. things started good he got the loan to buy the house with out my name on it and he applied for a eguity line to pay for the rehab but we couldnt get the money till the house was all complete.so we split the cost out of pocket to do the rehab. i spent 3 months 8-10 hours a day some weekends we got the house done and i was repaid the 20,000 i had into it. the idea was to split the profits after the sale. well shortly after i was locked out. of the house and the deal of splitting the profit was bogus. since he has rented the house out. all i want is to be paid for the 450 hours i put into it. i had to live off credit cards during the period i was working on this house due all my time was trying to get this house done.my question is do i have a case ?

Re: house remodel

If you had a contract or if you are on the title, you may assert your claims. You may need to file a Mechanics Lien, and there is a VERY short window for doing that.

Call or email if you wish assistance.
