Legal Question in Business Law in Minnesota
sub issues
I got a roof tear off job from a GC and I gave it to a subcontractor. We had a verbal agreement of payment amount. The sub called and said he needed more money for the job (due to extra layers of shingles) but I told him the GC could only get the amount originally stated. The sub now states that he never agreed on the money amount but yet he continued to do the job even after I said I couldn't give him any more money including going to do the job for a second day. I paid him for the amount agreed on for the amount of the job that was done. According to the laws, am I in the right? Would our original verbal agreement stand up in court.

Where is your written contract with GC? Have either of you provided pre-lien Notices?
What is price/bid differential?
