As a Franchise Attorney I can say the following. Minnesota Statutes, 325F.62, "Required Shop Practices," Subd. 3 deals with your issue. Normally a shop's final price cannot exceed the written estimate by more than 10% without your prior authorization. But this only applies to written estimates, not oral ones. Was any of this written down? Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
