Legal Question in Business Law in Minnesota

Municipal Confidentiality Act

My family and I were wondering if there is a contract that a bar/municipal has to sign, such as a confidentiality agreement. We have run into some problems with the workers at the bar we go to, that they will tell other customers and workers about things they here other customers say. This causes many problems among the people, and we weren't looking to fire anyone, just to see if there is a contract of any kind that we could bring to the city council, who would bring it to the bar, which if signed would make it clear that they would have to keep customer information confidential. Thank you.

I am afraid that no such obligation exists.

I doubt that there is any such law. If you own the bar, and your employees are gossiping, you could have your lawyer prepare a contract that says: "If you gossip about what you hear here, you will be fired." If you just go to the bar, you might tell the owner that if he or she does not stop the employees from spreading gossip, that you will no longer patronize his or her fine establishment. Or just don't tell anyone in that bar anything you don't want the rest of the town to know about.
