Legal Question in Business Law in Minnesota
I am asking this question so I know if my butt will be covered in a "worse case scenario." If I start a slide show business in Minnesota as a sole proprietorship and have my customers sign a contract stating that they can not sue me for more than they paid me if unsatisfied, will it hold up in court? I would have no problem refunding money made if I agree that something I did was unacceptable but my good friend is worried that if I find one bad person they will clean me out. I think this would work after watching small-claims court TV for so long but I want to be sure! Thanks!

Most business attorneys will recommend that you have at least 3 firewalls to protect you from liability PERSONALLY:
1) LLC entity ( or Sub S Corp) to do business and keep personal assets protected
2) Appropriate limiting language in contracts with customers, suppliers etc.
3) Insurance coverage as appropriate
Call or email for no charge consultation and fees for 1 or 2 above.
The other attorney is right on point here. This is not a simple bulletin board type question. Consult with an attorney in your area for specifics.
