Legal Question in Business Law in Minnesota
Subpoena - How long is it valid?
If was given a subpoena to appear in Minnesota court the beginning of last August 2008. I showed up, but the trial was postponed. I was not given a date as to when the trial would reconvene. I am an OTR driver, and am currently on the road, and just found out yesterday that the trial is currently in progress and that I have to appear in court. How long is a subpoena valid? Do they have to re-subpoena me to have me appear in court again on the new trial date? What kind of notice do they have to provide me of the new trial date? They've known about the trial date for quite some time, but had never told me until yesterday, and like I said, I'm on the road. I also don't have the subpoena handy because it is at my home.

Re: Subpoena - How long is it valid?
I am pretty sure they would have needed to issue a new subpoena to get you back to court. If you showed up the first time, and weren't given a new date to appear, you have complied with the subpoena and shouldn't have anything to worry about.
