Legal Question in Technology Law in Minnesota

Legal Video Surveillance

I recently found out that a sibling of mine placed a video camera inside our parents garage without their knowledge/permission and streamed the video to their personal computer through the wireless router that I found hidden. Our father recently died and this sibling is not happy about who is controlling the estate. Unfortunately, the next day I arrived I only found the hidden wireless router [and took picture of it] but no video camera. However, the high speed broadband service is being billed to my mother, who does not even use a computer. Is this legal and is it possible to trace where/who the video was streamed to through the wireless router? Also, if the wireless router has been removed already, can anything be traced through the company that provided the wireless service? Should I file a police report? THANK YOU!

Re: Legal Video Surveillance

Yes, a Subpoena may be issued by the Court to produce account and other records.

If the camera was placed without permission of the person in control of the property, both State (MN) and Federal laws may have been violated.
