Is a paving contractor responsible for damages caused by potholes on a road under repair?

Would have to read the spec to be sure, but the short answer is, "probably yes" since the road was in the paving Kr's care custody & control. Of course, there would be defenses available to the contractor relating to the driver's conduct (going too fast, ignoring directional signs, etc.).
