Legal Question in Consumer Law in Minnesota
business denies payment from consumer
We have an oustanding bill with a local business (We'll call them Nenson). We have consolidated a few bills with a consolidation company (American Debt Management co.) and the business we owe money to (Nenson) is denying payment from the consolidation place on our bill. I heard years ago that there is a law that states that a business has to take a minimum payment of $1.00 towards an outstanding bill, and if they refuse the payment that a judge would throw out the bill because the consumer is making an effort to make payments on the bill. Is this true?
