Legal Question in Consumer Law in Minnesota
Contract Auto Renewal
My husband owned a restaurant in a partnership agreement that later we soley owned as we bought out our partner and changed the name. During the original partnership, we signed a contract with a satellite music company that included a term with an auto renewal notice, the initial term for 60 months, and then with an auto renewal for another 60 months. We went out of business before the end of a second term. Will this contract still hold even if we received no notification that the contract was renewing and technically the ownership structure of the business changed?Isn't this an excessively long renewal term without notification?

Re: Contract Auto Renewal
I would need to review the entire contract to advise you. It sounds excessive, but if you signed as a business, you may be bound by its terms. Was there a bankruptcy or dissolution filing for the business?
