Legal Question in Consumer Law in Minnesota
Damage to rental boat
Rental fishing boat damaged in storm. Owner says I'm responsible. Wasn't in boat at time. Wasn't offered any insurance. owner claims I must pay for a new boat and loss of usage for about 6 weeks. I signed a sheet prior to use that the boat checked out ok.
Am I responsible for total loss according to 'his' boat mechanic? It is 20 hours from home, out of State also.

Re: Damage to rental boat
If the contract to rent was made out-of-state, then the law of the state where it was signed is law applying to the contract.
