liability and transfer of auto title
I bought a truck in dec 07 and have not received the title yet. I have a friend who I want to tansfer the tiltle to. Am I liable for any damages etc if my friend gets in an accident. If I am is a notarized statement releasing me of any liability legal until I get the title to transfer him?

Go to the DMV with the signed Purchase Agreement and Cancelled Check indicating FULL PAYMENT. They will have you sign an affidavit and application for title.
If there is a LIEN or Security Interest on it, you will NOT be able to transfer title until paid. DId you buy from a Dealer or private party? WHy didn't you get title when you turned over the $$ ??

go to the DMV, its important to complete the Affidavit.
