Legal Question in Consumer Law in Minnesota

Verbal Contracts, are they binding?

I live in Minnesota. I found a vehicle on the internet that I wanted to purchase. I called the owner and after several conversations and e-mail agreed on a price. Since it was out of state I planned on flying to Phoenix and driving the car back to Minnesota. I purchased 2, one way, non- refundable airline tickets, one for myself and the other for a freind who I wnated to come with in case I broke down on the way home.

One week after the purchase of the airline tickets the seller e-mailed me and said that her boyfriend had taken the signed title and sold the car without her knowledge.

I asked to be reimbursed for the amount of the airline tickets but she told me she could not afford it.

My question is: Is she liable to pay for my expenses?

Re: Verbal Contracts, are they binding?

Your e-mails may have formed a valid contract.

I would review and advise if you wish legal counsel.
