Bounced Checks

I have bounced a check and it went to collections. I have paid the collections agency, but when I went back into the store where I wrote the check, they had a list posted next to the register for all to see that had a list of people who had bounced checks. Is this legal?? Can they post a list of people who bounced checks for the public to see?
