Collect on ex-daughter-in-law's debt

My Ex-daughter-in-law owes me $8000 as stated in the divorce documentation. It's been 3 years and I have not received any repayment. What options do I have? Do I have to sue her to get her to repay the loan?

Suit or demand letter. Does she have assets? Is she employed?
