Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Minnesota

Collecting an Old Civil Judgement Owed to Me

I have a civil judgement that was decided in my favor 4 years ago. I never got anything. I dont want to pay to have someone try to collect it for me because he already owes it to me. What steps should I take and where are the best resources for information? Other than here... thanks much.

Go to the court and ask for an :order for disclosure & have it served on him. He will have to tell you where assets are.

Depending on the amount of the judgment, you may wish to have the assistance of counsel.

Collection costs may be added on.

The post judgment collection process is technical and challenging, and most attorneys don't know how to do it.

I'd be happy to review your documents and give you an assessment.
