Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Minnesota

collection agency

NCO is demanding I pay for a debt in full, because I have not paid them a monthly amount for several months. Reason being, the total amount they say I owe does not agree with a print-out I received from the state of Minnesota, stating what was paid to them and what I owe. NCO refuses to send me a statement of what I paid, from their records. I do not want to pay them another dime until I can reconcile what the state of MN states I paid and owe, what my records state, and what NCO's records state.

Re: collection agency

You may wish to have your attorney send a properly worded Demand Letter and Notice to Cease & Desist. NCO is a 3rd Party Collector and is thereby subject to the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
