Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Minnesota

Credit Card Company Misconduct?

I paid off my credit card (which had been in collections for a year or so) a month or two ago. At that time I asked that my account me closed. A month later I am receiving statements (credit balance) that say that my account has to be open for a full billing cycle before it will be closed and my credit issued to me. It has been open for 2 billing cycles now - and when I call to attempt to remedy this - telling them I want my account closed NOW, they say they are transferring me to their manager and hang up on me!!

What can I do to get my account closed NOW?!!

Re: Credit Card Company Misconduct?

Unfortunately, many times credit card companies do not take the concerns of their card holders seriously. In my experience, having an attorney representing your interests (writing a letter to the credit card company, calling them to resolve the issue, etc.) helps tremendously. Feel free to contact me with any other questions you may have.
