Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Minnesota

My credit card company sent me a $1,xxx overpayment refund check, which was an error (not my overpayment). I should have contacted them right away. Instead, I deposited it to my checking. Then another check for $1,xxx came a couple months later and I deposited it.

It has been about a year now. 4 more $1,xxx checks have come, which I have not cashed. I want to make restitution and reveal their error, which has went undetected.

This was so dumb and unethical. I've never taken anything that was not mine. Well, once or twice as a kid, on a dare. I've never missed a payment with this store/bank and have excellent credit.

My plans are to make copies of everything and mail a letter and a $3,xxx check, along with the uncashed checks, etc. Is this the right approach? What can I expect?
