Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Minnesota
debt judgement
I had a judgement for a specific amount with a credit agency. They garnished my wages for more than the amount which i figured might have been court fees. No big deal as I figured that as part of the judgement. But recently they have sent additional garnishment papers to my employer for a totally different debt that I have no knowledge of have had no judgement for and are trying to garnish my wages can they do that? It has the orginal garnishment court case number on it but it was not part of the orginal amount or the company that they were collecting for.

Re: debt judgement
I would need to review file to be sure, but in MN you can be garnished if you are served with a Summons and Complaint and default occurs (+20 days).
