Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Minnesota
What can we do? We are way in debt. We owe back taxes 12000.00 and it gets harder to keep up our mortgage 226,000 with HSBC. We have drug costs and I am on a set income. My wife works but in two years will be 65, I will be 65 in 3 months. I feel like walking away and getting an apartment. PLEASE HELP

It sounds like you need advice and counsel of an experience Debtor/Creditor attorney.
Your taxes may be negotiable on an Offer in Compromise basis, and your Mortgage might be subject to a modification, depending on your status and home value.
Please call if you wish a consultation.
I have 30 years experience as a Debtor/Creditor attorney.
If you have other unsecured debt, that can be negotiated for a substantial discount.
