Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Minnesota
Doctor Bill, Are We Responsible
Our son died on March l5 and was a patient of the Veteran's Administration. The VA has denied payment of his doctor bill for h is last hospitalization. They are threatening to take it to probate court for payment. He died intestate, was single, had no income other than
SSI. We live in another state, are quite elderly, and retired.
because we arranged with the post office to have his mail forwarded to us, are we legally responsible for bills that were incirredy him before his death? What should we tell the people that are sending us this bill. I am not the administrator of his will, as he had none. He died of cancer.

Re: Doctor Bill, Are We Responsible
You have no responsibility for his bills.
You can either 1) Ignore the bills
2) Send them copy of Death Cert w/ short letter that he died witout assets and his estate is closed.
3) Pass the letters and claims on to an attorney for response.
How much is largest bill?
