Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Minnesota

My ex-husband and his (now ex) 3rd wife own me $3000. I have a signed & notarized loan agreement & the cancelled check. Wondering if I should file through Concilation Court or get a lawyer. I know Conciliation court doesn't actually do collections. What is the best course of action?

There is a faster, and potentially more effective way.

If he is employed or you have a bank acct, a Dist. Court action can be better to collect if he defaults (ignores) the legal pleadings. You can garnish after 40 days without even filing the lawsuit.

Also, I usually get action with a strongly worded Demand Letter.

Call or email for help.

There is no court that takes care of collectoin of a debt for you. You must sue to seek a judgement and garnish wages and bank accounts once a judgement is entered.
