Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Minnesota

Family theft

My mother, who lives in Idaho, sent me some money. I didn't have an account to put it in, so my daughters fiance put it in his account, and now won't give it to me. Is there anything I can do to get it back? It was quite alot of money.

Re: Family theft

You should initially have an attorney do a demand letter. If he does not respond to that, a lawsuit will be necessary. Do you have any writing from him re: the arrangement? He may try to claim it was a GIFT. What was the amount?

Were there any witnesses to your arrangement with the person who deposited it?
