Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Minnesota
my friend agreed to pay for a toilet and sink and said I could pay her back after tax season. I have this agreement in writing. Now she says she wants the money in 2 weeks or she will take me to court. can she do this even though we already have in writing an agreement that I will pay her back after tax season? How can I protect myself against this?

Unfortunately, there is not much you can do to prevent her from taking you to court. All you can really do is convince her that she is going to lose, and if you have a written agreement that seems to be the case. As a practical matter, even if she were to sue you it wouldn't go to court for two or three months (i.e. February or March).
