Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Minnesota

Girl Friends Credit Card

I was involved in a relationship where my girl friend shared a Discovery Card that was in her name. I used it a couple of times for business travel and paid the most of the debt out right before putting the debt on a monthly payment drafted from my account. The debt was for 8k initially and outside of the monies paid I have paid 250.00/mth for nearly 3 three years. She will not show me a statement or the year end account portfolio despite asking. We have since broken up becuase I found her lying, traveling and sleeping with other men and I feel I am paying for her lies and infidlity. To that end I quit paying last month and she is calling me telling me the bill is 8k and she is going to seek a lawyer. What do I do? The card was on her account and I have not charged anything nor do I have the card for over three years all I have done is pay?

Please advise, thanks :-(

Re: Girl Friends Credit Card

If you paid $250/month for 3 years, that sounds like a total of $9,000.00. Send her evidence of payment (bank statements with everything blacked out but the auto payment items) and her attorney will tell her her case is gone. Did you have an agreement to pay interest or late fees?
