Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Minnesota

judgement

What happens when a judgement is signed? I owed 2400. but could only give them 1000.00. I offered to make split the remaing balance into 4 payments, but they said if i did not come up with the remaing balance over the week-end that a judgement would be signed on monday.

Re: judgement

A judgment would be entered against you and, if filed, would become a lien against any real property that you own in the county in which it is filed. The creditor may sek to collect the Judgement through garnishment of bank accounts and income.
