Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Minnesota

lein against me

September of 1997 a large company filed a lein against me personnally for $46,000.00. September 2004 will be seven years. Does that filing 'fall off' my credit report automatically or can the claimant refile the claim? If I don't pay it can the company collect the sum in question and how? If I buy a house can they extend the lein against the real estate? Recommend a local attorney that can further advise me in the City of Des Moines Iowa.

Re: lein against me

Check w/ Iowa counsel. In MN a lien doesn't "fall off" until extinguished by payment.
