am i liable

i was involved in an accident while driving someone elses car.it was my fault(i had been drinking) the car was insured but the claim was denied. it is now 4 years later and the cars owner just got a letter demanding payment for damages. who is liable and hasnt it been too long?

If the car was insured it should pay. Why was the claim denied? DId you have insurance (through your own company)?

If so your insurance might pay.
