Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Minnesota

Can I repossess a vehicle from a repair shop if the debtor owes a repair bill? The car is at a repair shop, in an open area. It has been repaired and the debtor owes the shop for repairs. I have been trying to find it and repo it for weeks. Can I repo it from the shop? Who owes the repair bill? What documents must I have with me when I repo the car? Do I need to notify the local sheriff of the repo?

The starting point is a review of your written agreement pertaining to this vehicle (if any). Based upon you posting all these detailed questions on a general legal informational website, I urge you to pay an attorney to provide you with formal legal counsel & legal opinion on the matter. The information here is general legal info', not legal advice & counsel.
