Resale of property, when debtor will not pay
This is a personal debt owed to us. We lent these people, money $200 a year ago and they asked us to repair their motorcycle and they would pay us for loan and repairs when it was finished, that was 6 months ago. We checked with local Harley Davidson dealer and repairs there would have cost them $1800. We are charging them 300, they will not or can not pay. How long are we required to hang on to their bike and can we sell it? Thanks Joi

Yes. You have a repair lien which you can foreclose. You must follow the statute. Without a written agreement you cannot add attorneys fees, but you can sell following notice and other requirements.
