Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Minnesota

wanting to collect after 10 years

In 1996 I had a Mercury Cougar that was repossed in Indiana. The original balance owed was $3,763.87. I never paid it and now after 10 years a company by the name of People First Recoveries has contacted me treatening t take me t court for the amount of $8,557.90 which they say I owe to National City Bank...not the same company I bought the car from. Since it has been 10 years, can they still come after me?

Thank you,

Juan

Statute of Limitations may bar their claim. I would need to see their claim + orig documents.
