Legal Question in Criminal Law in Minnesota
My 18 year old nephew was cited for a minor consumption 4 months ago, the officer gave him a ticket to appear within 2 weeks of the ticket, when he appeared in court nothing had been turned into the courts, now 4 months later they give him a court date~is this legal?

Yes, and also very common. I would suggest that your nephew should speak to a criminal defense attorney and have one of us review his case and see what his options are to keep this off his record.
