Legal Question in Criminal Law in Minnesota

Over 10 years about I was ticketed by police for urinating in an alley. I went to court and before recess for lunch I spoke to public prosecutor and he said it was a misdemeanor and I could pay the fine of $138 and leave. They said it would not show up on my record and it just now came back in an employment background check stating it was a felony that was reduced to a misdemeanor. Can that be true or is that a court error?

Sounds like it must be an error. You ought to retain an attorney to look into it and then either set the record straight or seek an expungement. I'd be happy to do a free initial consultation with you.

I cannot imagine how that would be charged as a felony. the records would have to be reviewed, but it would certainly seem to be an error.
