Your question is far too broad and it depnds on the particular circumstances of the case. I can tell you, contrary to popular belief, it is not necessary that you are read Miranda rights unless there will be a custodial interrogation. That is a common question and a common misconception.

The term "arrest" can have many meanings under modern criminal law. Under traditinal common law, it means "to deprive a person of their liberty, even briefly."
