Assuming we are talking about a Minnesota driving-related alleged violation or offense, the court would not "certify" a conviction to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, in the event of a stay of adjudication. Why? Because the court will certify driving realted convictions, and a stay of adjudication is not a conviction. If one of the conditions of the stay are violated, normally a conviction would then result, and if driving-related, the court would certify any conviction to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety for inclusion on the driver's record, as well as any potential administrative license revocation.
