do I need an attorney for a gross misdemeanor? I have a clean record. My mom called the cops on me cuz we got into it and they put a warrant out and took me to jail last week.

I want to plead not guilty

Yes absolutely. This is a serious criminal charge. Your first move should be to retain an attorney. Your attorney will then advise you on next steps. 651-994-6744.

Prior reply contains incorrect information and should be discounted.

I strongly urge you to pay a very well-experienced attorney at this time, for multiple reasons: One, you face a gross misdemeanor charge, Two, the warrant, Three, that this involved your own mom.

Good to know that you want to to plead 'not guilty' - your attorney will want to discuss the full facts with you so she can advise you well. Best to you!

You will need to have counsel on this matter. We would need to look at the paperwork and discuss the strategy. If you are convicted of a domestic you would lose your hunting rights and there are other collateral consequences as well. We are next to the Anoka Courthouse and have practiced here for over 20 years. Give me a call to set a no cost consultation. mark giancola

Yes. Without a lawyer representing you, there is little chance of protecting your clean record.
