How far back can a potential employer go on a potential employes record or criminal convictions in Minnesota

I am not aware of any law prohibiting an employer from going back as far as it wishes. There are certain restrictions on how and when a public employer may use a conviction, but private employers are free to do as they please. If the conviction was for a lesser change the record may have been destroyed (25 years or more).
