Legal Question in Criminal Law in Minnesota

My boyfriend is currently on parole in MN. He recently moved in with me. When his probation officer came to the house she found a bb gun in my sons room. He was arrest and is waiting to see if he is going to be charged. Is a bb gun considered a weapon? Is it really possible to be violated on a bb gun?

It depends on the type of BB gun. A BB gun with a CO2 cartridge is onsidered a firearm. A pump action does not have combustion and is not considered a firearm.
