Legal Question in Criminal Law in Minnesota
I confessed to a crime, it hasnt went to court yet, i was told it would remain private until I went to court and at that time it may or maynot get out to the public. I could be looked at as a public figure in my city, and word has got out into the public by what I am told from a police officer not even involved in the case. I just wanted this to stay quite to protect my family.

You really do not pose a question, but I am assuming you are questioning your privacy rights. I am not sure who told you that it would remain private, but that is not true. Many of the facts relating to the charges will probably not be released, but not your name or charges. As you can see in the daily newspaper, many people are named "allegedly" even without charges being filed.
Criminal cases are matters of public record. If you enter a plea in a case, it is accessible by the public. Whether it gets out to thepublic depends on whether media outlets find the case in what is generally a regular review of the court docket or police blotter.
Was that something a police officer told you in the hope of reassuring you enough to get you to talk? Evidence in a criminal case is normally public. Perhaps this misleading promise could be useful as part of a motion to suppress the statement from evidence at trial.
