Legal Question in Criminal Law in Minnesota

I was convicted of theft (misdemeanor) when I was 16 years old. I never expunged the record, but am now interested in doing so. In my adult life, I have been convicted of misdemeanors which I am now in the process of getting expunged.

In the expungement packet, it asks for a complete list of my criminal record, since the juvenile theft. My questions are:

1) If I wait to file for expungement (for the juvenile theft) until AFTER my adult misdemeanors have been expunged, am I required to list all of the convictions?

2) If I go ahead and file the expungement right now, listing all of my convictions, will this jeopardize the judge approving the expungement for the juvenile charge? (My adult charges had nothing to do with theft.)

In regard to the first question, it depends on what the Judge decides to expunge. I would suggest asking at the time of your expungment.

As for the second question, you must list all criminal convictions, having other convictions listed will not help your request, but not doing so and having the Judge find them will have far more severe consequences.
