Legal Question in Criminal Law in Minnesota

What crimes are committed when witnesses testify & lie, who were never at the crime scene & get their information from another persons untrue statement? Before being called to the witness stand sit memorizing the statement of the other witness to appear on the witness stand. Then, the first witness that testified left the room, reentered the courtroom and sat behind the defendant. He read from behind the defendant the questions he had written down to ask the witness on the stand & as the witness was asked questions, he nodded yes and shook his head no.

I believe telling a witness how to answer on the stand a crime. And recounting anothers statement of events when you werent there & saying you were. NOt only that, but disgusting as one was an officer.

Thank you, Iook forward to an answer, and thank you for your time

If a person lies under oath it would be perjury. This crime is very rarely prosecuted. Initially, it should be addressed through cross-examination. Unless it is blatant, nothing is going to happen.
