Legal Question in Criminal Law in Minnesota
Domestic Assault
I was wondering if my boyfriend was arrested for domestic assault and I didn't tell the police officer that I pushed him first and I tell the prosecutor if I can be charge with a crime.

Re: Domestic Assault
Thank you for the message.
It is always possible that you can be charged with an offense if you initiated an assault. However, in my experience, such charges are rarely, if ever, brought.
Rather than speaking with the prosecutor directly, you may wish to communicate with the defense attorney who may acquire a written statement to improve the defendant's chances.
