Legal Question in Criminal Law in Minnesota
Door Number Three?
I am curious about a phrase I heard while watching a recent
episode of ''Law & Order''. When the ADA received a defendant's
notice to present an affirmative defense of justification in a murder
case, she said ''He's gone through door number three''.
What does this expression mean?

Re: Door Number Three?
It means the writers made up an expression.
Re: Door Number Three?
It appears to be a pop culture reference to an old television game show, where the contestant would choose among three doors or curtains, not knowing what lay behind, and win whatever was behind. The analogy in this television show is intended to convey that the defendant-character has made a choice, but the outcome of that choice is still unknown.
