Legal Question in Criminal Law in Minnesota

failed alcohol compliance check

i have been bartending for seven years and have no criminal record. I work at a bar that has a doorman who checks the ID's of customers so the bartenders do not have to. I compliance check was recently done and I failed. This is the bar's first offense and mine as well. I was wondering what my options are, as I feel I am not 100% responsible as the person should have been checked at the door. Thank you for any help or advice.

Re: allegation of failed alcohol compliance check

If you have been charged with a crime for this, and your goal is to keep your public record clean of a conviction, then I recommend fighting it in court. I have been often successful in helping clients achieve this goal. Call me if you would like to discuss.

Re: failed alcohol compliance check

It is unfortunate the situation you find yourself in. Have you been criminally cited yet? Or just given a civil citation?

It would appear you lacked the required intent the State needs to prove you guilty. It is important you have an attorney review any all paperwork before proceeding alone.

I provide FREE consultations and would be happy to speak with you.
