Legal Question in Criminal Law in Minnesota

felony

I have recently just messed up big. Me and a friend tried cashing a fraud check at the bank for two thousand dollars and my friend set me up with the police. I got charged with identity fraud for having a fake ID, check fraud, and i had stolen items in my vehicle. I also pawned a stolen gun under my fake ID. I have not been charged yet and am possibly going to be able to just go into the military as a plea bargain. I was just wondering what could happen out of all of this and also if i cant go into the military and just go on probation if i will be able to get a job at all with all of this on my record. I am 18.

Re: felony

There can be no doubt that having public criminal records would impair a person's ability to get a job, get a better job, and reduce their annual income and take home pay for a lifetime.

If a person was able to avoid a guilty plea and a conviction by going into the military, that sounds like a lucky break. It almost sounds to good to be true.

Re: felony

Any theft over $1000 would be charged as a very serious felony. If you have no criminal record, often, with the assistance of counsel you may be able to avoid a conviction with a Stay of Prosecution or by entering a diversion program.
