Legal Question in Criminal Law in Minnesota

Felony Theft of a Firearm & Aiding and Abedding

I was traveling to visit the southeastern floods in MN with my younger brother and @ the same time wanted to get firearm information from the local gunshop in Winona, MN, I knew that the city allowed persons over 18 to purchase a firearm but only with proper training. Anyways, when i got in the store I was talking to the gentlemen about training courses, suddendly when my brother came in i believe he was looking at sum of the firearms. While i was leaving the store , my younger brother walked out with a gun. When i approached my car my brother came in the car with the gun. I then told him to give it back to the clerk and i wont drive until he does so. In a matter of a second my brother handed the gun to the store clerk and then i Left.. 5 minutes later i was apprehended at gun point by 10 squad cars.... what is my best solution to clean this mess and clear myself..?

My younger brother was a 16 year old juvenile......

1. First, get the best criminal defense lawyer you can, as soon as possible.

2. Do not talk (more) to police or anyone else, until you have retained a lawyer.

3. Based upon the limited information here, you would be "not guilty" of theft due to no prior knowledge of the crime, and immediate resonable efforts to terminate criminal activity once you did become aware of it. Discuss this with your lawyer.
