Legal Question in Criminal Law in Minnesota

My girlfriends exboyfriend

I am at my wits end here... I'd love nothing more than a chance to get my hands on this punk... but that will only make matters worse.

My girlfriend owns a house that will not sell with her X. He has keys, comes over once in awhile and breaks things in the house because she dumped him. He has grabbed her on the arm once and left bruises, she will not tell me if he has ever done worse and I can't get a good read on her to determine if she is in fact hiding worse.

I want to know if there is any possible way to make the law/courts work in her favor to do the following:

1) Make him stay away (restraining order even if is part owner of the house?)

2) Make him agree to a sale of the house. He believes it's worth $20K more than it is... not in this market.

3) Reimbursement for all the damage he has caused.

This constant harassment and threat she is under is unbearable. She won't tell me his name and I have no idea what he looks like... so you can see where my frustration level is... so I'll go the legally ''right'' route and seek your advice.

What are her options?

Yes. If there has been domestic abuse, and it appears that there has been, it would support a domestic abuse restraining order. I would stongly suggest doing so.

2) Make him agree to a sale of the house. He believes it's worth $20K more than it is... not in this market.

Yes. Either owner may file for a partition action forcing the home to be sold or one party to purchase the interest of the other. We can assist you with such an action.

3) Reimbursement for all the damage he has caused. This constant harassment and threat she is under is unbearable. Yes. That would be an issue that could be addressed in Conciliation (small claims) court.
